Hapkido/Hankido
Hapkido is an authentic martial art based on three natural theories, the theory of Yu (flowing water), the theory of Won (circle), and the theory of Wha (Harmony).
Movements in Hapkido are designed around natural flowing energy using leverage and science. Hapkido is based on the Aiki principles. This is an elevated idea of blending in the chaos of combat rather than clashing with an attacker.
Hapkido training brings enlightenment of body mobility and helps prevent premature aging of the body. The training promotes better blood flow circulation and the self regulation of the nervous system, while improving stimulation of joints and the body's life energy (Ki or Chi).
Hapkido roots are from the Japanese samurai, Chinese martial arts and the noble warriors of Korea. Hapkido training studies many areas that one may find themselves in an self defensive situation, such as how apply joint locks, chokes, throwing or taking down an attacker, striking skills with kicks, knees, elbows and hands for example.
Hapkido is an authentic personal self protection system and an excellent source of exercise. Many students immediately feel the stress reduction in their bodies and minds.
